RULES

Last updated: January 10 2019

Sybl gives you a voice to communicate with the surrounding public. In order to help create a safe and trusted community, all users must adhere to the policies set forth in the Sybl Rules. Failure to do so may result in a temporary locking and/or permanent suspension of account.

Please note that we may change these rules from time to time and reserve the right to do so. You can always find the most updated version of the Sybl Rules here.

1.0 ACCOUNT

The following applies to users who choose to become a registered Sybl user by creating a Sybl account.

1.1 Multiple Account Abuse

You may only have one account. Possessing multiple accounts in order to evade penalties or suspension of a separate account, or for any other reason, is not allowed.

1.2 Impersonation

You may not impersonate other human beings through our Services. Your account information must be accurate and Sybl reserves the right to request for your identification, either through government-issued identifications or other means, in order to verify your identity.

2.0 CONTENT BOUNDARIES

2.1 Graphic Content

You may not use pornographic or excessively violent media in your profile image or Sygnl attachments. Sybl reserves the right to delete Sygnls with violated graphic content and may apply Karma penalties to accounts whose profile images violate this rule.

2.2 Unlawful Use

You may not use our Services for any unlawful purposes or in furtherance of illegal activities. International users agree to comply with all local laws regarding online conduct and acceptable content.

3.0 ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR

Sybl believes in the freedom of expression and in speaking truth to power, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up. In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we do not tolerate behaviour that crosses the line into abuse, including behaviour that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice.

3.1 Violent Threats

You may not make threats of violence or promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism, direct or indirect.

3.2 Harassment

You may not incite or engage in the targeted abuse or harassment of others.

3.3 Hateful Conduct

You may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease.

3.4 Private Information

You may not publish or post other people’s private and confidential information, such as credit card numbers, street address, or Social Security/National Identity numbers, without their express authorization and permission. In addition, you may not post intimate photos or videos that were taken or distributed without the subject’s consent.

4.0 SPAM

Since Sybl is an open platform where broadcasted Sygnls are visible to the public eye, we take spam as our foremost concern. Any accounts engaging in the activities specified below may face Karma deductions or be temporarily suspended from broadcasting:

  • If you broadcast similar content across different channels.
  • If you repeatedly broadcast Sygnls whose content is similar to what is already broadcasted. There is an Echo function for that.
  • If you repeatedly broadcast false or misleading content.
  • If you Echo your own Sygnls with the intention to elongate its lifetime.
